Without Pain RCT (Root Canal ) Treatment Availble at Dant Vedaa Clinic
Standard RCT procedure
- Diagnosis: An X-ray is taken to assess the infection's extent.
- Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area, ensuring the procedure is painless.
- Access and Isolation: A small opening is drilled into the tooth to access the pulp, and a dental dam is used to keep the area dry and isolated.
- Cleaning and Shaping: The infected or damaged pulp is removed, and the root canals are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and shaped.
- Filling and Sealing: The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material, typically gutta-percha, and sealed to prevent reinfection.
- Restoration: A temporary or permanent filling is placed in the access hole. A crown is often placed on the tooth afterward to restore its strength and function.
Treatment variations
- Single-Sitting RCT: Suitable for localized infections, the entire process is completed in a single appointment for quick relief.
- Multiple-Sitting RCT: Used for complex cases, this method involves 2 or more appointments to ensure thorough cleaning and monitoring of healing between sessions.
- Endodontic Retreatment: Performed if a previous root canal fails, this involves reopening the tooth, removing old filling material, and re-cleaning, re-filling, and re-sealing the canals.
A dentist may prescribe an antibiotic to prevent or treat infection.
